About the event
Join Angie Brain and Laura Pereira for a social distancing art camp held entirely outdoors. Through activities such as photography, bookmaking. printmaking, and painting, teen participants will use their experiences outdoors, and conversations with others as fuel for artistic inspiration.
Participants will travel to a variety of twin cities metro area natural sites, incorporating experiences in the natural world with art-making. Some of the day might be spent hiking and finding elements of nature that provide inspiration for works of art, some might be spent in thought and conversation, and much of the day spent simply making art. A few proposed sites also have canoeing/kayaking as an option.
While Open Art Space classes and events are ordinarily donation based, this experience is, in part, a way for us to keep our doors open in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Accessibility remains our aim, however. If the cost is an obstacle for participation, a pay-what-you-can option is available. If you are able, please consider donating a little extra to cover the cost of others who might find the price prohibitive.
