About the event
Join Angie Brain and Laura Pereira for a socially distanced art experience held entirely outdoors. Through activities such as photography, bookmaking. printmaking, and painting, teen participants will use their experiences outdoors, and conversations with others as fuel for artistic inspiration.
Participants will travel to a variety of twin cities metro area natural sites, incorporating experiences in the natural world with art-making. Some of the day might be spent hiking and finding elements of nature that provide inspiration for works of art, some might be spent in thought and conversation, and much of the day spent simply making art.
On the final Friday of camp, participants have the option to stay overnight in the group campsite at Lake Elmo Park Preserve. Bring your own camping equipment, or we can help you with equipment such as a tent, sleeping bag, or sleeping pad.Â
The estimated value of this camp is approximately $350 ($450 with optional overnight). However, all Open Art Space classes, events, and camps are run using a pick-your-price system; families may choose a price that works for their household budget. Art kits are all the same and included in the price, no matter what you pay.
